Welcome to version seven of Imaginative Love! I had originally planned to update about a year ago, but I kept hating the layout I was making. In the end, before Sasa helped, I had about three or four different versions. Now, that may not seem like much, but if you knew how I work, three or four is a lot versions because I usually spend months on one layout if I really care about the subject. I am really thankful that Sasa had agreed to help because she had said she wasn’t going to help anymore since it wasn’t really her site, but mine. She just loves to help graphic wise and she wanted to try coding it a different way, which came out very successful.
The past versions were all different, and well, none of them were alike at all. Each version was unique and had their perks. With every brand new revamp, something new came with it. We always did not update for a long period of time only to return with a big care package.
During a horrible, devastating, inexplicable, event, the image host the site depended on, YesAlbum, decided to delete all the images on the site without prior warning. Therefore, we have lost all screencaps, etc. that were featured on and before version 6. I will do my best with descriptions, and if you’ve been a devoted visitor, you would probably recall the layouts.
Version one to version two gained two new staff members, Sasa and Summer. The layout was a centered layout with Kagome sitting on the staircase and Kurama standing behind her. The color scheme was mostly white, black, and some magenta. The TagBoard was more active than it was on version one.
Version one’s layout was purple and had a poorly manipulated image of the two by me. There was barely any content… Well, there was not any content until version two. We also began taking reasons during version two. A lot of things were installed in this version. Basically, version two was version one, and version one was the beta.
Version two to version three still stayed bright and white, but this time it was a framed layout that stayed on the bottom left corner of your nice monitor. The manipulation was done by both Sasa and myself, but the rest of the designing and coding was done by Sasa. The images we used were manga images, and the final image looked as if Kurama was hugging Kagome tightly and both were facing the front.
I was responsible for adding and updating all the content. The image gallery was updated in this version. We sort of gained a new staff member here, Ken 2. She helped out by contributing graphic goodness such as wallpapers and icons for the new version.
Version three to version four went from white and bright to dark and purple. I was lucky enough to find a screeencap in my messy Photobucket account, but sadly this is the only surviving cap I found. I’m starting to think we really like white and purple. This was also a framed layout. The manipulation was less of a manipulation than we normally do, but the colors on the original images were not helping and we used manga images on all the layouts before version four. Both anime images featured Kurama and Kagome wearing yukata. For this version, we uploaded music, but we may have done this towards the end of version three. We sent them through the mailing list, and in each email, we sent 10+ songs with ratings and a review of the song. We felt the need to share more things with our precious visitors. This was the version that Behind the Anime and IL comic were added.
Version four to version five is probably my favorite of all the past layouts. I wanted to play a small joke and see which of the visitors we had actually read everything I wrote, since writing was my job on the site. I lied and claimed that the site would close in the beginning of my message, only to have a link to lead to the new URL. The site was moving off of GeoCities and onto a real domain, Kloud-Nine.
The manipulation can be found the the image gallery. I worked hard on making it a convincing manipulation. All the layouts were happy and cheerful, and well, this was more of a mellow and melancholic layout. The color scheme stayed salmon, red, and orange. I probably read to many dramatic fanfiction when I was making this layout, but I can’t recall. Sasa did the finishing touches to the layout and the coding, and I was responsible for the content.
This was the version where we installed Storyline, the script used to manage the fanfiction. This was a big help as we used to handle fanfiction by email and hand. This way, authors could handle stories themselves and receive reviews. This was also modified and set up by Sasa. There were and still are many glitches on it though. The fanlisting was added to this version.
Version five to version six was probably the hardest layout to make. After discovering the Yu Yu Hakusho calendar images, I was inspired to make a new layout. This was another layout using anime manipulation. Kurama and Kagome were back to back on this layout and it was aligned to the right, making it difficult to set up. We returned to white, but this time it was a white, blue green, and yellow color scheme.
What was added was the SIMs screencaps I had of my Kurama and Kagome family. New graphics were added and they were made by the staff, mainly me and Summer. There was a store to buy merchandise as well, but that is close now.
This was the version that YesAlbum believed it could destroy without warning. I was severely pissed off when that happened because I believed the site to be okay, and I had lost all files because the computer with the sites files died. I had to leave the whole site broken until I could find time to make a new version. I believed that putting it on hiatus would be okay, but I never believed I would go on a long hiatus.
Version six to version seven is what you see now. I’ve explained the layout at the beginning of this page, and well, this layout hasn’t lived it’s whole life yet. For this version, we have moved to my own domain, we are updating information, and the galleries will have been updated with new images. This might be the final version as I don’t see the need to give constant change to the site. I want to concentrate on the content, especially since both series are complete.
